Lundy LLP filed a suit on behalf of our client for damages and lost profits resulting from the State of Louisiana’s failure to apply rules and regulations equally to all manufacturers of septic systems.

Our client received a brain injury as a result of an explosion at a pipeline construction site.
Commercial Litigation
Verdict/Settlement: $10,000,000
Lundy LLP successfully litigated on behalf of our client securing a $10 Million award in connection with an oil well blowout caused by pressure from the defendant’s salt dome cavern leaking into the adjoining oil and gas fault block.

Oil and Gas Accidents

In re: Oil Spill by the Oil Rig “Deepwater Horizon” multidistrict litigation resulted from the British Petroleum oil spill that occurred in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010, which affected thousands of businesses and individuals across the Gulf Coast. Partner Matthew E. Lundy is a member of the BP Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee. The BP matter is ongoing with more than $4 Billion dollars having been paid to date.
Property Insurance Claims
Verdicts and Settlements: $16,000,000
In 2005, Hurricane Rita devastated Southwest Louisiana, causing catastrophic damage to businesses and homes throughout the community. Lundy LLP represented numerous individuals and business owners against insurance companies that refused to promptly and fairly adjust and pay legitimate property damage claims. Lundy LLP recovered $16 Million in settlements and judgments for our clients who suffered property damage as a result of the storm.
Class Action/Mass Torts
Settlement: $4,000,000
Lundy LLP represented pharmacists in an unfair wage and hour practices matter wherein the corporate pharmacy/employer refused to pay overtime to its pharmacists. The class action litigation was based on the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and resulted in a $4 Million settlement.
Class Action/Mass Torts
Settlements: $50,000,000
In litigation against Bayer CropScience, Lundy LLP represented rice farmers, seeking economic losses resulting from the farmers’ crops having been cross-contaminated with genetically modified rice which ruined their export value. $50 Million in settlements were obtained for our clients.
